Endolift is performed by placing an optical fibre 200-300 microns thick — a little thicker than a hair — beneath the skin. The 1470 nm wavelength it carries is strongly absorbed by water and fat cells, so the device does two things at once: it melts localised fat and instantly contracts connective tissue, drawing it upward. That dual action sets Endolift apart among non-surgical options. The areas we treat most often are the jowls, jawline, cheeks and neck; beyond the face it is also used on small fat compartments such as the inner arms, abdomen and above the knee. The absorption coefficient of the 1470 nm wavelength in water is markedly higher than that of the wavelengths used in classic lipolysis lasers, which means the same result with less energy — and therefore less heat delivered to surrounding tissue. Along every path the fibre travels beneath the skin, fat cells are selectively broken down while connective tissue contracts, producing an upward pull. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia, with no incisions, sutures or general anaesthesia. Initial tightening is noticeable within days, while collagen renewal continues for three to six months, so the real result settles over time and a single session is enough for most patients. Swelling and mild bruising may last a few days, and most people return to social life within two to three days. Satisfaction is highest in patients with preserved skin elasticity and moderate laxity.
